It has pockets, which my child liked for holding a handkerchief, but she didn't like it because skirts are not easy to move around in when running around outside. It keeps the waist warm, so I think it would be useful for children who enjoy quiet play. The color is difficult to see in the photos, but it is a dark green. I will erase the name on the tag with a black magic marker. Upon inspection, there are no tears, but there are small thread frays and wrinkles from storage.
