This is a fukuro obi (formal obi). The silver background features a pattern of hasso-ka (stylized lotus flowers). I loved the elegant colors and design, and I wore it for weddings, my children's shrine visits, and other special occasions. It paired very well with white, black, and pink kimonos, and it was a versatile obi that could be matched with other colored kimonos by coordinating the obiage (sash scarf) and obijime (sash cord). I hesitated to list it, but my children have grown, and I no longer have occasions to wear it, so I am offering it for sale.
