Labradorite refers to a mineral in which two types of feldspar, albite and anorthite, are mixed in roughly equal proportions. If this 50/50 ratio leans towards one side, it becomes andesine or bytownite, so you could say they are related. This feldspar has thin layers like mica, layered like a mille-feuille cake, and a thin metallic film is inserted between those layers, allowing you to see labradorescence when viewed from the surface. Usually, labradorite rarely has both good transparency of the feldspar and good labradorescence, so you have to compromise a little to wear it. However, stable transparency and prominent blue and yellow labradorescence are also observed. This grade is not often available in large sizes, so please consider it.
