There are no chips or cracks. My cats also often drank from automatic water fountains, but the filters would quickly breed bacteria and become slimy, which I thought might be bad for their health. So, although it takes more effort, I decided to use these bowls, washing them daily and refilling them with fresh water. According to the Aukatz website, these bowls are good for their health, and they drink from them well. Also, I often break them, so I was worried about running out, and I ended up buying a lot of them. But I bought too many.
