This is a stunning, high-quality fukuro obi with a dignified feel. The entire surface, both the front and back, features silver thread throughout. The otaiko (the part that forms the knot), the stomach, and the tare-saki (the end that hangs down) are decorated with gold and silver yaki-haku (burnt foil) and embroidered flowers. It appears to be lightweight and easy to tie. It is made of silk. There is some evidence of use, but there are no particularly noticeable stains, and it is in beautiful condition!
