The uppers are made of burnished tan calfskin (the surface of the tanned leather is rubbed with a heated iron cylinder while rotating, creating a subtle sheen and a tasteful unevenness. The finish is close to the natural leather without any coating, so you can enjoy breaking them in to your liking. Regarding sizing, due to the inside-lacing design, it's recommended to go up half a size from the size you usually choose for Barrie or Modified lasts. These shoes would fit someone with a foot size of 26.5cm perfectly. They show some signs of wear, but the creasing is minimal, there are no noticeable scratches, and the soles have only worn down to the first layer.
