Tachikawa Bunko was a series of paperback books based on "written storytelling" published by Tachikawa Bunmeido (Higashi-ku, Osaka, later moved to Andojibashidori, Minami-ku) from 1911 (Meiji 44) to 1924 (Taisho 13), comprising 196 volumes. It caused an explosive boom among elementary school students and shop clerks at the time.
