First, the ink color is a strong reddish-brown, and there are hardly any inks with this much red. Some manufacturers say "red-brown," but the quality of the red isn't that high. Regarding this ink, I think it's on par with the Chinese ink "Tessai Boku." Please see the ink test samples. As ink, the one with the most red is the best, without a doubt. Moreover, the brushstrokes are light and smooth. Therefore, it's suitable for: Kana calligraphy, especially for large works, using thick ink or medium to light ink. Kanji calligraphy, thick ink, medium to light ink. Painting; this ink color is rare and produces clear gradations, making it excellent. Jet black for thick ink, reddish-brown for light ink.
