A transistor-based phono equalizer amplifier developed by inheriting the design philosophy and musical expression of the EA-1. The circuit configuration employs a fully symmetrical non-feedback amplification. The first stage consists of a low-noise voltage-current conversion circuit using a complementary connection of complementary FETs (field-effect transistors). By adopting carefully selected components and using self-bias operation to determine the operating point, a bias circuit is not required, eliminating the inflow of noise and factors that degrade sound quality, enabling the original low-noise operation of the components. The second stage constitutes a current amplification and voltage conversion circuit, and the playback characteristics are obtained by the RIAA impedance element connected to the current output point. This constitutes a CR type equalizer circuit without RIAA deviation up to ultra-high frequencies, and excellent transient characteristics are obtained.
