Also skilled in haiku, he studied under Takahama Kyoshi and left many works. Served as the chairman of the Japan Rappukyoku Association for many years. Used the "Yonewaka-so" inn he built in Atami as a separate residence. Real name: Nogami Matsudaira. His uncle was the first Suzuokitei Beizo, a Rappukyokushi.
