This is a type of ink called "Huimo" (徽墨) from China, manufactured by "Hu Kaiwen" (胡開文), an established ink shop founded during the Qing Dynasty. Huimo is a general term for ink produced in the Huizhou (徽州) region of Anhui Province, China. The figure depicted in the image may be "Ge Hong" (葛洪), a legendary figure from China, or "Ge Xuan" (葛玄), a Taoist immortal. The characters "其阿者勇" are written on it, which reads "Sono omone-ru mono wa yū nari" (その阿（おもね）る者は勇なり), meaning "Those who flatter others are courageous." #JapaneseCalligraphy #Calligraphy #Ink
