Hang it above a sleeping baby, and the baby is stimulated when they move their hands and feet, causing the ball's plastic bell to ring. To make it easy for babies to hold, I've filled it with soft, fluffy craft cotton, so it won't hurt if they bump into it. During the crawling stage, babies can chase after the gently rolling ball.
