The Fujica Auto-M, released in 1962, is equipped with a unique dual-program shutter mechanism. This allows for two types of shooting: aperture-priority and shutter speed-priority EE (Electronic Exposure). The Copal Magic shutter, in addition to offering full manual control, automatically adjusts the shutter speed if the appropriate exposure cannot be achieved within the set aperture range. This feature, commonplace today, was remarkably implemented mechanically in an era without electronic technology. Only two cameras in the world feature this Copal Magic shutter: the Pentina from East Germany and the Fujica Auto-M. This camera is a true photographic heritage piece. Due to frequent malfunctions, functioning examples are rare. *Adjustments and Maintenance Performed: Selenium Meter: Detects brightness and adjusts the aperture for the automatic function. Selenium function is working. Viewfinder: Clean. Lens: Cleaned; slight haze visible on the inner lens element. This should not affect image quality. Body: Generally clean; small dent on the top right of the prism housing.
