This is a chashaku (tea scoop) that was carefully preserved as a memento of my aunt, who was a teacher of the Urasenke school of tea ceremony. It is a bamboo chashaku with an impressive, beautifully carved curve, and the tea master's inscription is written on both the kyozutsu (tea scoop container) and the kyobako (tea scoop box).
