Vintage rotary switch made by Nara Kogyo, Japan, in the 1950s. It features a combination of ceramic and metal construction, with the exterior secured by a nickel-plated steel ring. The white knob on top allows for step switching such as "1/2" and "1/4". The bottom has a porous ceramic socket structure and was used to control electrical equipment and lighting devices of the time. Ratings: 15A 125V / 7A 250V. You can feel the characteristic weight and precise construction of Japanese industrial parts from that era. There are signs of use and natural oxidation on the surface due to aging, but it is in generally good condition.
