This incense container is a lion head, based on the original model by Fumio Asakura (Person of Cultural Merit), who had a house and atelier in Taito-ku, Tokyo. Based on the work of Fumio Asakura, a leading Japanese sculptor who was active from the Meiji era to 1964 and was called the Rodin of the East, this Kutani ware incense container is made by Naoki Miyamoto, a famous ceramic artist from the ancient city of Kanazawa. We hope you will add it to your tea ceremony utensils. It is a Showa-era item, and although there is no price list, it comes with a beautiful paulownia wood box. It is a new, unused item, and it is in very beautiful condition because it was occasionally looked at and usually stored in the paulownia wood box.
