This kokeshi doll won the Minister of International Trade and Industry Award (currently the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) at the National Kokeshi Competition. Takao Kiyohara has won the Minister's Award four times, the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency Director-General's Award twice, and numerous other awards.
