The main hall is said to have been relocated from the Hokke-do of Myoho-ji Temple in Nagoe in 1886 (Meiji 19). Inside the hall, there are statues of Nichiren Shonin and the founder Nichihan Shonin, as well as a Suiten statue. In addition, the coffered ceiling is decorated with flower and bird paintings, and the transoms are carved with the twelve zodiac signs. In the precincts, there is the Kasamori Inari-do, which is said to be effective for all illnesses, especially cancer, and the Jokyo-do, which enshrines large and small Kishimojin (Goddess of Children). In addition, the Sanmon gate has a dragon carving said to be by Hidari Jingoro, and the front transoms and beams of the main hall have dragon carvings by the Hosokawa clan, the daimyo of the Kumamoto domain. In 1860, Hiroki Matsunosuke, one of the Mito ronin who attacked the Great Elder Naosuke Ii in the Sakuradamon Incident, was sheltered at Jogyoji Temple when he fled to Kamakura. However, he learned that his comrades had been executed, and committed seppuku on March 3, 1863.
