Purchased at an antique shop, this is likely a brass lantern. There are scratches on the glass and scratches/peeling on the brass parts. Of the four glass panes, the two with etching are original. The other two have gaps at the top and are fixed in place, so I believe they were replaced later (photos 12 and 13). At the time of purchase, an electrical cord was passed through the hole in photo 6, and it was sold as a lamp with a socket. I believe it was originally a lantern.
