This is a Jurojin (Longevity God) clay doll from the Nakano Hina dolls, crafted by Kunio Nishihara of Tatehana, Nakano City, Shinshu. It was made by a master craftsman. The figure is formed from high-quality clay, coated with white clay, and then painted with overglaze enamel to depict Jurojin holding a military fan. This piece is from the late Showa era, approximately 40 years ago. It was carefully preserved in the storehouse of an old house in Nagano City and is in excellent condition, being a large-sized work.
