The inscription reads December 29, Showa 4 (1929). There is also a driving wheel mark on the back of the iron kettle, which I believe is a valuable marking. I don't know how many of these iron kettles were made as commemorative items, but I looked it up on my phone and found that they are rarely put up for sale. During the war, under the slogan "Give up scrap iron," the people provided materials free of charge, so I think the number of existing ones is extremely small. The character "Kotobuki" (longevity/celebration) can be read on the back of the iron kettle lid. Photos are attached. The bottom inside of the iron kettle is rusty as shown in the photo, but I think it just shows its age. I would like to display it because the inscription is clearly readable.
