#R's Autumn Sale ¥45,000 → ● #Kimono Instructor R's Summer Room For those who often wear kimonos, you might understand, but there aren't many elegant hanhaba obi (half-width obi) for summer. While linen and Hakata hanhaba obi are, of course, wonderful, they often give a more stylish impression, which doesn't quite match my image... I often feel that way. There are many cute ones made of synthetic fibers, but when paired with my favorite summer komon (small-patterned kimono) or special yukata (summer kimono), there can be a noticeable difference in quality. Then, I found this obi for the first time. It's a summer fukuro obi (formal obi) made of monsha (figured silk gauze) that has been cut lengthwise and made into a hanhaba obi. I received it from an acquaintance, and this time I've selected two. If there seems to be demand, I'd like to ask them to weave more, but I don't know when that will be. I'd love to have such a wonderful summer obi in the first place, but the idea of casually wearing it as a hanhaba obi is also exciting. You can also tie it in an otaiko style (a formal obi knot). You can enjoy it from this season through autumn. This is an item that would cost around ¥400,000 as a fukuro obi, but I've made it reasonably priced as a hanhaba obi. ◆ It's 480cm long, which is extra-long, yet it's incredibly thin and light. It has a textured pattern throughout, and it's very elaborate. I'm not sure if it's wild silk, but it also uses zenmai (fern) thread, giving it a unique flavor. The white side has an argyle-like or heart-like pattern that's very cute.
