Singer of the late Showa and Heisei eras. After graduating from junior high school, she sang at clubs, and made her record debut in 1971. She won the "All Japan Kayou Championship" on TV in 1972 and gained attention. In 1973, "Namida Koi" became a hit, followed by hits such as "Tomoshibi," "Koika," and "Funauta." She won the Record Grand Prize in 1980 for "Ame no Bojo." She is also active as a painter, having been selected for the Le Salon exhibition in France for five consecutive years and becoming a permanent member. Born in Kumamoto Prefecture.
