The matte black case is made of a robust aluminum alloy, using a Hammond enclosure, which is also used in many famous effectors. The control knobs use metal hat knobs, also used on ZEMAITIS guitars, giving the effector a design reminiscent of a metal front guitar. The sound of the ZMF2022D is inspired by the natural drive sound of a large 1960s tube amplifier, familiar in traditional rock, aiming for a natural yet powerful overdrive.
