Takato Ware Tea Cup Takato Ware is a pottery made in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture. It began in 1812 when a kiln was opened to bake water pipes for drawing water into Takato Castle. Takato Ware uses a double glaze. The glazes used include green glaze, white glaze, ruri glaze (which produces a deep blue), and sakura glaze (cherry blossom color), which is inspired by the famous Kohigan cherry blossoms of Takato.
