This is a kogo (incense container) by the renowned Kyoyaki (Kyoto-style pottery) artisan, Kitayama. It is a remarkably detailed toad, and the craftsmanship is impeccable. As a frog is also a symbol of good fortune, I personally find it hard to part with this exceptional piece. There are no noticeable cracks or chips. Comes with a wooden box (kyobako).
