The front ornament has an insertion, so you can simply insert it into the obi. Wrap the body wrap around your waist with the string side down. If the bottom of the body wrap with the string is tightly secured, it's okay if the insertion side on top is loose. In fact, the looseness makes it easier to attach the front ornament.
