You can adjust it depending on what you put inside. When children start kindergarten, they might only need one lunch box, but in the summer, they might need more ice packs, want to bring dessert in a separate container, or want to put onigiri separately from the lunch box, and so on. The amount of things they need to carry will increase. It's made with a little extra space, so it can fit both vertically and horizontally, depending on the size of the lunch box.
