It's relatively clean, but there's a faint black stain in the indentation in the center of the inside. Please refer to the fourth photo. As shown in the 5th, 6th, and 7th photos, there are scratches that look like claw marks near the Richell marking. It's fluffy and my pet didn't mind using it. It wasn't cold in the winter.
