Graduated from Kyoto Hosei School (present-day Ritsumeikan University) and Jingu Kogakukan (present-day Kogakkan University). After serving as a teacher at Yamanashi Prefectural Girls' High School and as a consultant to the Ministry of Home Affairs, he became a professor at Ritsumeikan University in 1934 (Showa 9). After the war, he became a professor at Kinki University in 1948 (Showa 23) and Senshu University in 1955 (Showa 30). His main work is "Dai-Jii Seishi Kakei Daijiten" (3 volumes, a total of 6673 pages, published 1934-1936, reprinted in 1963 by Kadokawa Shoten), and he has many other works, including "Nihon Kodai Shizoku Seido" (Ancient Japanese Clan System), "Nihon Kokushi Shiryo Sorosho" (12 volumes), "Seishi Kakei Jisho" (Surname and Family Tree Dictionary), and "Seishi to Kakei" (Surnames and Family Trees).
