This is an Alexander 163G gold brass tuba. While the current manufacturer's website lists the bell size as 45cm, this older model has a 42cm bell. There are many scratches and repair marks, but any issues affecting playability have been addressed. The rotary valves and tubing all function correctly, but because it's handmade and the 4th valve slide is very wide, be careful not to force it when pulling it out or inserting it, as it may get stuck. Compared to other tubas of the same size, it has a higher volume tolerance and gives the impression of having more overtones. The intonation is also good, requiring only a little getting used to. The mouthpiece must be the extra-thick shank type, commonly called the Alexander shank, to fit correctly. Please use the included adapter or an Alexander shank mouthpiece (Tilz 19). Using the adapter may limit the instrument's original specifications. Therefore, I recommend using the Tilz mouthpiece. I plan to ship it in a Protec case, packed with the utmost care. I will ship it within 1-2 days in most cases, but it may take up to 7 days. Direct pickup is also possible, but you would need to come to a location within my available area.
