Origin: Inner Mongolia, China The main component of Shetai Jade is silicon dioxide, SiO2 quartzite. Its density is 2.659/cm3 and its hardness is 7, falling within the category of jadeite, and it is often used for carving. Excavated since 2007, it has properties similar to jade, and was officially named "Shetai Jade (shē, tài, cuì)" after the local name "Shetai Town" with the addition of "翠" (cuì, meaning jade). It shows more noticeable aging than jade, and you can enjoy a greater sense of moisture and luster♪ Compared to jade, it has a richer color palette, is easier to bring out the luster, and is also relatively affordable.
