It is an unused item. I do not know the release date. I believe this is a Philippine-made 501 that was processed to resemble the 1917 model, which was popular at the time. The red tab is a small "e". As shown in photo 7, there was green lettering on the lining of the left front pocket from the beginning. In my personal opinion, I don't see any noticeable scratches or stains that are particularly concerning.
