Thank you for viewing! This is an original tsumugi (pongee) kimono from "Souya," a long-established Kyoto manufacturer, featuring the "Three Great Tsumugi" styles. I purchased it several years ago and have kept it at home unworn. The Three Great Tsumugi refers to tsumugi that uses three types of threads: "tama-ito" (knubbed silk), "wata-ito" (raw cotton silk), and "hira-ito" (flat silk). Tama-ito is used in Ushikubi Tsumugi, wata-ito in Yuki Tsumugi, and hira-ito in Oshima Tsumugi, so this kimono combines all three styles into one. The feel of the fabric is closer to Yuki Tsumugi, but it also has the luster of Oshima Tsumugi, making it a kimono suitable for a wide range of seasons. The lining features a kaleidoscope design and the Souya logo (images 8, 9, and 10). As it's an awase (lined) tsumugi perfect for the coming season, I highly recommend it to fans of Souya and tsumugi enthusiasts.
