This is a large, antique Imari plate purchased at an antique market. It's gorgeous and dazzling. The most striking feature is the phoenix with a red back. The golden clouds elevate its status. The window frames are also luxurious. The top and bottom feature floral arabesques, and the left and right sides have shihou tasuki patterns. The window dividers are long, vertical karahana (Chinese flower) designs. The sometsuke (blue and white) three-petal flowers in the center and the sometsuke karahana frame of the window dividers give this plate a sense of refined composure. There are repairs and cracks on the rim. The cracks extend from the repaired areas. There is little wear and tear. Please examine the images carefully for further details.
