This is golden Indonesian wild silk cocoons I bought almost 20 years ago. They are from a wild silkworm species, and instead of being a cocoon shape, they are like a single, opened piece of skin. There may be scissor marks or cuts left from when they were opened. They are very light, so I'm measuring approximately 10 grams, a little more to be safe. The second photo shows what 10 grams looks like. It's said that the golden shine fades when spun, so the main uses are likely to be pressing them flat or shaping them individually with your fingers to create three-dimensional forms. I gave some to two people who make pressed flower art, and they loved them. They are flat, but if you open and shape them with your fingers one by one, they will look like the first photo. Each one has a different pattern, shine, and size. The flower in this photo was made simply by threading pearl beads onto thin wire and then passing the wire through. The third photo is also an example (and is not included in the product). Here are some examples, though they are not very good. The ease of use comes from being able to use them as-is and shape them to some extent with your fingers. Photo 4: Added to a herbarium. Photos 5 and 6: 1/6 doll costumes. I also tried making a Barbie bra, but it didn't go very well... These are old stock, so there may be some scratches or stains. I will report them as much as possible, but I may miss some.
