This is a piece of hand-embroidered fabric created by the Banjara people of southern India. It is a rare traditional embroidery from the nomadic Banjara tribe, used as a patch (applique). Some pieces incorporate mirrors and shells, but this one is characterized by its dense, flat embroidery. It is an antique piece from around 1950, and the fact that it uses threads dyed with natural dyes is also valuable. It would be lovely framed, and its flat and stable nature also makes it suitable as a rug. This is an item released from a collector.
