Koppa-butsu (Fragment Buddha), local Buddha. This Buddha was carved from a fragment of cedar wood. I purchased it at a flea market in Kyoto. Although it is a small Buddha, it has a face that seems to ward off evil spirits. It has a roughly hewn appearance, but I believe it was made as a protective amulet.
