Here's a brief explanation: Yubetsu Coal Mine was a coal mine located in Kushiro City, Hokkaido, which was founded in 1919. There were several mine entrances along the river, and the railway was completed in 1923, starting the operation of the coal mine. In 1924, it was acquired by Mitsubishi Mining and continued as a Mitsubishi zaibatsu coal mine, but in 1969, it caused a gas explosion accident and closed in 1970.
