Beautiful contrast of red and black: Kyoto lacquerware, a long-established shop, Zohiko's round two-tiered jubako (food container). Made of natural wood, lacquered. It is wooden, not resin or processed. Purchased in the Showa era, so it has been a while, and I'm selecting "Like New," but it is completely unused. Please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for a brand-new, just-bought condition. When I bought it, the salesperson told me that it looks like a paper lantern when viewed from the side (photo 6). I chose a pattern that doesn't specify a season, such as plum blossoms, pine, and autumn leaves. Perhaps because of this stylishness, it has an approachable atmosphere, but it is also an item backed by genuine craftsmanship. It's wonderful for New Year's, even if you don't make osechi (New Year's dishes), just arrange store-bought items in it. It's also wonderful to make a bento (lunch) in the jubako for cherry blossom viewing or picnics. Comes with the original wooden box from that time.
