A shakudo nanako-ground kogai (hairpin) with a depiction of the Fukujin (Seven Lucky Gods), unsigned, with high-relief carving, hair-line engraving, and gold and silver coloring. Likely a copy of a work by Goto Ichijo. A masterpiece with a magnificent design. The raised high-relief carving of the Fukujin, the fineness of the nanako (fish roe) ground, and the vivid gold coloring are all excellent craftsmanship. On the left side are a deer and Jurōjin (God of Longevity), and on the right side is Hotei (God of Happiness) threshing rice. This is an auspicious kogai featuring two of the Seven Lucky Gods. The original Seven Lucky Gods three-piece set by Goto Mitsuyuki (later Goto Ichijo) is featured on pages 104-107 of "Tosogu Shin Kaitai Shinsho" (New Dissection of Sword Fittings). *The book is not included. The design of the kogai is almost identical. While it does not match the quality of Goto Ichijo's work, it is still well-made. Some age-related soiling and color fading are visible, but the condition is good. Please check the images for details. Due to the effects of light, the colors may appear slightly different from the actual item. There may also be slight differences depending on the browser of your computer or smartphone. Please understand. Size: Length: Approximately 21cm Width: Approximately 1.26cm Thickness: Maximum approximately 4.8mm (excluding the ear pick)
