I have never put food or anything in it. It has been displayed in the alcove for a long time. There are places where the gold on the rim is peeling. There is dirt on the back. It is a large plate with a diameter of about 36cm, so it would look great as a decoration. The plate stand is broken, so I will not send it, (It is currently tied with string and dirty) but I will ship it together if you wish.
