There is deterioration over time, discoloration, scratches, etc. I purchased it through mail order a few years ago. The string hole at the top is missing. All functions work without any problems. It lights up, and both melody mode and shake mode are usable. The inside of the battery cover is clean with no signs of battery leakage. Please understand that this is a used item. Thank you.
