I tried to remove the dirt from the roller, and it came off a little, but not completely. (I wonder if the paint on the old PE line was prone to peeling?) I won't use an abrasive because it will remove the plating. I haven't used it for about two years. There is no rust. The moving parts rotate. There are modifications for the bearings online, so if I can modify it, it will be like new. See image 5 for the instruction manual.
