This is a portrait photograph of Marthe Régnier (1880 - 1967), a French actress and singer who was active in the 1920s, known as the Années folles (Crazy Years) following the Belle Époque. Size: 20.5 cm (height) x 26.1 cm (width) The photograph was taken at the famous Nadar studio in Paris. Marthe Régnier also appeared in films such as "La Dame aux camélias" (The Lady of the Camellias). Baron Henri de Rothschild had the Le Théâtre Pigalle built as an homage to Marthe Régnier, who was his mistress at the time.
