This is an old mask purchased as a sample of mask carving from a home in Kyoto. The dimensions are 214mm high, 129mm wide, and 71mm deep. Because the width is narrower than usual, it appears vertically elongated. The type of wood is unknown, and it may have shrunk since it was made. However, the expression accurately captures the essence of the character, the paint has a quality that reflects its age, and the carving is skillful. I believe the artist was quite talented. This is an authentic old mask.
