This item is a small wooden bird whistle made of wood and bamboo. You can change the tone by covering and uncovering the holes in the bamboo tube with your fingers. It was sold as a souvenir in the Showa era. Hakone is famous for its marquetry, but these bamboo flutes were also popular as affordable souvenirs. This item has been stored at home. It came in a box, but the box shows signs of aging and deterioration. Please refer to the photos and consider purchasing if you are interested.
