These are individual serving plates with a cherry blossom petal motif. The design, featuring gold leaf, combined with the petal shape, gives a very華やかな impression. They are suitable for both Japanese sweets and Western desserts. I saw someone else selling similar items as lacquerware, but these are resin-molded plates with red urethane paint applied. They look like lacquerware but are easier to manage. The gold leaf also appears to have a thin clear coat. I purchased these and used three, then put them away. I am now selling them to declutter. Two out of five plates are unused. The other three have minor scratches on the bottom. New ones sell for around 9,000 yen on Rakuten Ichiba, so I am selling them for less than half price.
