These are geta (Japanese wooden clogs) with toe covers. The covers are made of rubber and are soft against the toes. They are lighter than zori (Japanese sandals) and are the "ukon" style, making them easier to walk in than geta with two blades. There is peeling on the painted part of the heel on the underside of both platforms (see image 3).
