I urgently contacted Nakajima Gakki, the distributor, to find out where one was available, and traveled a long distance to Wind Bros in Tokyo to purchase it. This is one of the first three hiF# keyless saxophones to arrive in Japan 22 years ago. (One was used by Mr. Sato). Due to the very early production run, the neck does not have a "C" engraving, giving it the appearance of being unbranded, but it is genuinely the original neck. Body: Ancient bronze Finger buttons: Black mother-of-pearl Tone holes: Curling processed (photos are uploaded.) Antique satin finish The sound is dark and warm, with excellent sub-tone response and a wonderful tone. Perhaps because the body is made of copper, it has a soft resonance and a deep, vintage-inspired flavor. I used it as my main instrument on various jazz stages for about 4 years. Currently, I mainly use a Selmer Mark VI and a Yanagisawa, so the frequency of use has decreased significantly. I am offering it for sale to someone who will cherish it. It is almost impossible to obtain one with these specifications (including being from the very early production run). I believe that saxophone enthusiasts will be satisfied with this instrument. For the sale, I had my usual repairman replace the torn pads and make adjustments, so it is ready to play immediately. Those considering it as their main instrument may want to have a full overhaul for an even better sound. As you can see in the photos, there is rust and scratches from use on the areas that are touched. There have been no major accidents such as being dropped or falling, so please rest assured.
